Seven dino-era feathers found perfectly preserved in amber in western France highlight a crucial stage in feather evolution, scientists report.
西フランスで琥珀の中に封じ込められた恐竜時代の羽毛が見つかったという報告です。
この羽毛には現代の鳥が持つダウンのように中心に軸があり、その周りに羽枝を持っていました。これまでに見つかっている恐竜に生えていた原始的な羽毛は糸状のものであるとされていて、新しい発見だと考えられているようです。
